# Peru Dehydrated Pineapple Exports Reach USD 16.0 Million in 2025 as Price Per Kilo Falls 22.6%

## Peru shipped USD 16.0 million of dehydrated pineapple in 2025 — at a price per kilo 22.6% below the year before

Pheonix Research today publishes *Peru Dehydrated Pineapple Market Size, Share, Trends and Forecast 2026–2033*, which sizes Peru-origin dehydrated pineapple exports at **USD 16.0 million in 2025** on **1,522 tonnes** and forecasts **USD 30.39 million by 2033**, an **8.35% CAGR**.

The category is the fastest value-added upgrade in Peru's fruit basket. Dehydrated pineapple earned USD 2.6 million in 2023 and USD 16.0 million in 2025 — **6.15 times** in two years, and 30.3% of the USD 52.4 million Peru earned from pineapple and derivatives that year, against 64.2% for the canned pack.

It is also, on the most recent quarter of customs data, a category buying volume with price. Between January and March 2026, exports were worth USD 3.4 million on 404 tonnes: **6% more value on 37% more volume**. That implies an average FOB of **USD 8.42 per kilogram against roughly USD 10.88 a year earlier — a 22.6% decline**.

 | Indicator | | 2025 | | 2033 forecast | | Growth |

 | Export value | | USD 16.0 million | | USD 30.39 million | | 8.35% CAGR |

 | Volume | | 1,522 tonnes | | 3,263 tonnes | | 10.0% CAGR |

 | Implied FOB price | | USD 10.51/kg | | USD 9.31/kg | | −1.5% a year |

 | Exporters | | 14 (Jan–Sep 2025) | | 8 (Q1 2026) | | −43% |

 | US share of value | | 77.0% (Jan–Oct 2025) | | above 95% (Q1 2026) | | concentrating |

## The 88% headline is a volume number

Between January and October 2025 the category grew **88.1% in value and 78.3% in volume** to 1,082 tonnes, on customs data compiled by ComexPerú. Value outran volume, which reads at first pass like a category earning a better price. The following quarter settles that reading, and not in its favour.

The growth itself is real and it has a cause. ComexPerú is explicit about the second function of the dehydrator: dried pineapple is, in its words, an alternative for the producer facing scenarios of overproduction of the fresh raw material. When the fresh export window closes or a field over-produces, the dehydrator absorbs tonnes that would otherwise be dumped. That is the structural reason the line grew so fast in 2024 and 2025 — and it is also the reason its pricing power is capped by design.

## Fourteen exporters became eight

In the first nine months of 2025, fourteen companies exported dehydrated pineapple from Peru. In the first quarter of 2026, eight did. **Greenbox S.A.C.**, the leader, held **75%** of export volume (859 tonnes) in the 2025 window and **59%** (237 tonnes) in the 2026 quarter. **Unión de Negocios Corporativos** went from 13% (150 tonnes) to **28%** (114 tonnes). Third place changed hands, from Branchout Food to Elite Food Perú.

A 75% leader losing fifteen points of share in six months while the market's price per kilo falls 22.6% is not two facts. Greenbox's position was never protected by the customer; it was protected by capacity, and capacity is now contestable.

## One buyer, one valley

Demand geography is the second structural weakness. The United States took **USD 10.4 million** of the USD 13.5 million exported between January and October 2025 — **77.0%** of value — and above **95%** of first-quarter 2026 shipments. Canada doubled to USD 2.1 million and Mexico grew 489% to 51 tonnes, from a base too small to offset a single-buyer market. The destination list narrowed from nine countries to four.

Supply geography is narrower still. **Junín** produced **83.3%** of export value (USD 11.2 million), Ica USD 1.4 million and Piura USD 329,820. National pineapple production runs at about 598,000 tonnes a year and Junín supplies more than 76% of it. There is no second valley at scale.

## Forecast: 8.35% of value growth requires 10.0% of volume growth

The base case is a two-factor build rather than a trend line. Volume grows **10.0% a year**, above the 7.8% annual growth MIDAGRI projects for global dehydrated pineapple to 2034, on the argument that Peru is still a share gainer — the country moved from 38th to 20th among pineapple exporters in five years. Price is modelled at **minus 1.5% a year**, on the evidence of the first quarter of 2026. Compounded, the two produce 8.35% in value.

 | Scenario | | Volume | | Price | | 2033 value | | CAGR |

 | Conservative | | +6.0% a year | | −3.0% a year | | USD 19.99 million | | 2.82% |

 | **Base** | | **+10.0% a year** | | **−1.5% a year** | | **USD 30.39 million** | | **8.35%** |

 | Optimistic | | +14.0% a year | | flat | | USD 45.64 million | | 14.00% |

The two assumptions a reader should attack first are the 10.0% volume rate, which requires processing capacity that does not visibly exist today, and the declining price path, which is the honest reading of 2026 but assumes the premium never returns. If organic certification and origin story-telling can re-establish a premium, the optimistic case is worth 50% more than the base case eight years out.

## The premium is real — for now

Dried pineapple cleared at **USD 12.31 per kilogram** against **USD 1.94** for preserves, purée and pulp in March 2025 — roughly six times the per-kilogram price of the processed pack it competes with for raw material. The defence of that gap is certification rather than the fruit: Golden MD-2, the cultivar Peru dries, is the same one Costa Rica and the Philippines export. Greenbox holds EU organic certification through Control Union Certifications Germany under DE-ÖKO-070, and that auditable chain of custody is the single most valuable non-physical asset in the category.

What the 2026 data does not yet show is anyone defending it as a price. Fourteen exporters became eight as capacity entered and bought share; no Peruvian processor in the record has chosen to sell less at a higher price.

## One data conflict, disclosed

Dividing 2025 value by 2025 volume gives **USD 10.51 per kilogram**. MIDAGRI reports an average FOB of **USD 12.42 per kilogram** and describes dehydrated pineapple as the highest valorisation in Peru's export portfolio. The two cannot both be a simple average of the same shipment set. The report publishes both with attribution and leans on neither to make a claim about price levels in isolation.

## About the report

*Peru Dehydrated Pineapple Market Size, Share, Trends and Forecast 2026–2033* sizes Peru-origin dehydrated pineapple — dried, infused and dried-and-sweetened product leaving Peruvian ports, valued FOB — across market overview, competitive landscape, value chain, investment activity, technology and innovation, market risk and regulatory landscape. It is built from Peruvian customs data via ComexPerú, the Fluctuante export series, and MIDAGRI's Commercial Profile of Peruvian Pineapple, with no licensed third-party market size and no competitor research house cited.
