This segment carries packaging reports defined by breadth of scope rather than by pack format. It exists because the industry’s other segments answer “what kind of pack is it?” — flexible, rigid and thermoformed, paper and fibre-based — or “where is it used?” — industrial and transit. A report that sizes the whole packaging market, or a single substrate across every format it appears in, answers neither question and cannot be filed under either without misrepresenting its own scope.
Typical members are whole-market aggregates spanning all materials and end uses; substrate-level studies (paper and board, plastics, metal, glass, moulded fibre) that cut across formats; and cross-cutting analyses of conversion economics, recycling infrastructure or extended producer responsibility that apply to the market as a whole. Regional and country editions of a whole-market study belong here too, since they inherit its scope.
A report belongs here when moving it into one of the format or end-use segments would require narrowing its stated scope. The segment is deliberately small and structural: it is an organising home, not a thematic bucket.
