The FDA's traceability deadline moved thirty months further out while the deadline that actually forces the retrofit arrived closer — and a retailer set it, not a regulator. FSMA 204 requires records, not marks, so a straight establishment-count model yields USD 8.71 billion of hardware — 40 times the USD 217 million the rule can actually create. The larger, earlier and less negotiable date is GS1's 2027 retail target.

A wine grape may carry 150 mg/kg of phosphonic acid and be sold as food; an organic wine may carry 1 mg/L and keep its certificate — the tighter ceiling is set by a certifier, not a regulator. And the redefinition Europe enacted on 29 April 2025 moves every reported residue by 25.5 per cent, so a 2023 certificate of analysis and a 2026 one are not comparable. All three ceilings expire with the approval on 31 July 2029, after which the default is 0.01 mg/kg: 15,000 times tighter than the wine-grape limit.

Illumina's 2025 revenue was flat at USD 4.34 billion. Read as a headline that looks like a market stalling; read underneath, it shows growth has migrated to the high-throughput instrument, the clinical customer and a published reimbursement code. The sequencer is no longer where the money is.

CBRS's celebrated 420,000 deployed radios divide out to several hundred per operator — the signature of fixed wireless access, not of buildings. In-building private cellular is roughly 1.4 per cent of the installed base, and the administrators that make those radios legal are quietly leaving.

Canada's 40.0 per cent "AI is not relevant" answer is a statement about what a business sells, not how it runs — and the country has no survey that asks the second question. The published figures do not even agree with each other: 40.0 per cent from Statistics Canada, 63.0 per cent implied by the federal strategy's own 78 per cent. Inside that gap sits a market worth USD 3.16 billion in 2026 and USD 8.60 billion by 2033.

Chile's vehicle theft count fell 20.27 per cent between 2022 and 2025 while the insured theft rate sat flat at 0.6455 per cent for three years. The reason is the denominator: the insured parc grew 4.66 per cent on a record 4,182,519 policies sold at a 21.43 per cent lower average premium — which makes coverage, not falling crime, the largest contributor to the market's forecast.

Twenty-three of the FDA's 46 novel approvals in 2025 carried orphan designation — half the year's approvals on 19.2 per cent of its pivotal evidence. The median orphan programme enrolled 114 patients, nine ran on a hundred or fewer, and the whole cohort's evidence base is smaller than three non-orphan programmes enrolled in the same year.

Ontario's Auditor General found that nine of the twenty AI documentation systems it tested fabricated content or proposed referrals and blood tests the physician never ordered — twelve transcribed a different drug than prescribed. Five weeks earlier, an independent evaluation of the same technology class reported 1.11 hours a week saved and same-day note completion up 19 points. Both documents are true, and the gap between them is where the next cycle of the Canadian market is decided.

Nine of the 46 methods Brazil recognises as alternatives are animal tests, and the register is deep at the skin and empty inside the body. That gap, not the ban, is what decides which ingredient classes can be served in vitro — and why the growth curve is a step in 2027, a plateau, and a second step in 2031.

USD 5.2 billion of cosmetics enters the UAE each year and USD 3.40 billion is consumed; the 37.9 per cent in between is not leakage, it is the business model. A read on why the import figure cannot be divided by a population, what the 5.3 per cent to 2033 is actually made of, and why the pallets stay in Dubai while the margin is moving to Riyadh.

A cosmetic-grade USP 38 lanolin offer sits at USD 14,700 a tonne while the blended figure implied by world trade is USD 4,556. The gap is not a data error - it is the market's actual shape, and it is why the shrinking Australian wool clip has not yet moved the price most buyers pay.

A finished flashlight enters the United States at 25 per cent. Its parts enter at 62.5 per cent and its cell at 53.4 per cent. That inversion is worth USD 231.75 million a year — 26.9 per cent of the entire first-sale market — and it is decided by which ten-digit code a broker selects.

Canada builds about 2 per cent of its homes off site, against 45 per cent in Sweden — a gap normally read as a technology problem. The capacity arithmetic says otherwise: the whole country is about 36 production lines running flat out, and one ATCO line at one plant would out-produce the company's average housing book across all five. The binding constraint was a customer, and Build Canada Homes has just become one.

Global crude throughput is 83.5 million barrels a day and does not reach 85 by 2033. The refinery additives market still compounds at 3.52 per cent a year, because heavy sour barrels — a quarter of the volume — carry 45.5 per cent of the value at USD 0.235 a barrel against USD 0.055 for light sweet. And the bill is not paid out of a chemicals budget. It is paid out of the discount.

Vancouver issued 730 laneway house permits in 2018 and will issue about 245 in 2026. That looks like a programme dying. It is the same lot, the same capital and the same permission, spent on a bigger building in the front instead of a small one in the back.
